Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3-5 years minimum experience in Reliability Engineering role in the automotive industry. Experience in Quality would be an asset too.
Experience in applying Reliability / Key Life Testing methodologies to Power train applications
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, either high or low pressure casting, molding, machining assembly, testing and gauging.

Automatic Optical Inspection Solder Engineer in Markham

Engineering Degree

2-3 years experience with programming automated optical inspection, particularly VI technologies

Strong PC skills

Familiar with APQP, FMEA, DFM, Poka Yoke, TPM, 5S and lean manufacturing

Knowledge of SPC and 6 sigma methodology

Quality Engineer - June 25, 2010
 

Responsible to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the quality, environmental, health & safety, and business management systems to meet the business objectives of Maksteel and to represent the voice of the customer.

  1. Facilitate and support management system registrations, including the current versions of ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001.
  2. Develop, implement, and maintain programs facilitating improvements.
  3. Initiate studies, analyse results, and recommend improvements to products, processes, and systems.
  4. Maintain the non-conformance reporting system Manage internal quality audit process and support the environmental and health and safety audit processes.
  5. Investigate, report, and act on customer complaints
  6. Manage the corrective and preventive action processes.
  7. Perform supplier evaluation and development process.
  8. Support the purchasing process related to the metallurgical requirements of the customer.
  9. Responsible for technical submissions and advanced product quality planning (APQP) to meet customer requirements.

Job Qualifications:

  • Metallurgical or engineering degree an asset.
  • Fully conversant in the steel and service industry, and quality.
  • 5 years management experience in steel industry, of which 5 years should be in two of quality, manufacturing, production control, or engineering.
  • Professional and courteous attitude in all working relationships.
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training or equivalent experience.
